The Mathletics Maths Dictionary
Maths A–Z, the Mathletics Maths dictionary, is available in the Mathletics student console and makes a great resource for students to use when they encounter unfamiliar mathematical terms.
Teachers can model Maths A–Z by using their Student View. Then, from the Student Console, they can show students how to find the explanation in the dictionary.
How to access Maths A–Z as a student:
-
From the top menu bar, select Resources.
-
Select Maths A–Z.
-
Use the search bar to search for the mathematical term you are looking for. Click on the selection shown in the left-hand menu.
-
Tip– If your search brings up more than one selection to view, look at the symbol in the top right-hand corner. This shows the level of complexity of the explanation – where the dial is shaded in ¼ of the way, this is a simple explanation. ½ shaded means more details, and fully shaded indicates a very detailed explanation.

In addition to the search function, using the view options at the top of the left-hand menu, allows you to search with terms displayed alphabetically, or with an image and the term displayed.
